The Opportunity

We’re looking for Graduates in Civil Engineering to join to work on a range of exciting infrastructure projects across New Zealand, such as Takitimu Northern Link, Papakura to Drury, Kā Huanui a Tāhuna – Queenstown, the Watercare Enterprise Model, the Fonterra Model, Northern Corridor Improvements, Te Ahu Aa Turanga – Manawatu Gorge, and many more. If you love the idea of working on-site, working on structures and heavy civils and seeing a project come to life, this is the role for you.

Fulton Hogan is proud to be the Number 1 Graduate Employer for 2022 in the Construction & Property Services Division of the Prosple awards. At Fulton Hogan, we work hard to be the best and this begins with finding, developing and retaining the best fresh talent in New Zealand. We understand that where you land your Graduate opportunity is the first step in your career, and with over 80 years experience, we’re committed to ensuring you grow as our business grows.

What we’re looking for

We foster an inclusive culture based on family values. In whichever location you are placed across NZ, you’ll get the opportunity to work alongside teams of experienced professionals to support a variety of projects, in an environment that is rewarding, challenging and fun.

The Fulton Hogan Graduate program provides you with experience in all facets of the business on a rotational basis across two years. Rotations allow you to see our work in action, access environments for full Engineering New Zealand (formally known as IPENZ) competency development and get a feel for what areas you would most like to develop specialist skills in.

At Fulton Hogan, we really encourage and help you to work on both your professional and personal development. Your technical knowledge and skills give you entry into the industry, but your ongoing career success will depend upon you and your ability to lead and manage others. We will support you to develop these skills with opportunities, mentoring, feedback, and encouragement.

Here is the best bit….. on average our new Graduates get promoted within the first 18 months of employment. So if you want an accelerated career path – Fulton Hogan is the place to get it!

What we need from you

You must be a New Zealand Citizen or have a Permanent Residency to be eligible for these roles.

In return, we offer range of benefits including:

  • Mentoring from experienced employees

  • Corporate employee discounts with a large number of providers
  • Wellbeing benefits such as health insurance after the qualifying period
